Ballot Victory: Retired members were critical to success on Question 2
More than 100 retired educators participated as volunteers in the effort to secure a win on Question 2 in November. They talked to their neighbors, fanned out across neighborhoods, made calls and approached strangers in supermarkets. Their participation, fueled by their experience as classroom and support professionals, helped secure a win for the YES on 2 campaign. The cover story interviews several retired members about why they volunteered.
The December 2024 edition also has coverage of the 2024 Honor Our Own Luncheon, on growing momentum to repeal WEP/GPO and a first-person article on why retired educators of color are participating in a mentoring program for new educators of color.
